Hello once again !
Yesterdays post was admittedly a bit short as I was in a bit of a hurry. Seing as its raining today I figured I’d spend a bit more time in front of the screen.
The pyramids in the photos I uploaded a few days ago are amidst the ruins of the Aztec town of Teotihuacan, roughly 100km north of Mexico City. I went there by bus, and climbed both the temple of the moon and the temple of the sun, both of which are very steep climbs. The view from the top was truly impressive.
Patty has been showing me around Puebla and her university, and I’ve also been eating a lot of the local traditional dishes: Mole Poblano (a sweet chocolaty sauce on a chicken tortilla) and yet a different variety of tacos (whose name I can’t recall). I also ate fried grasshoppers last night. They sell them on the market here though I don’t think they’re a typical local dish.
I’m heading over to the Gulf of Mexico tomorrow on a bus to Veracruz where I’ll be spending a couple of nights. Patty is going to try to come down to San Cristobal de las Casas (where her parents live) with me after that and show me around there too.
