I guess you might say I’ve been pretty lazy… I’ve been back in Paris for a couple of weeks and, up until now, still hadn’t given you news of my safe return home. My first week back can be resumed in two words: work and sleep. I had to go back to work two days after returning to Paris and was not too happy about it. I also postponed unpacking my backpack for about a week, and eat out every meal to avoid doing shopping.

Well here I am in the southern most country in Central America and the last country I’ll be visiting on this trip. We arrived yesterday, november the 3rd, and Panama was celebrating its 103rd year of independence from Colombia. The locals have 4 days off work and theres a lot of partying in the streets. Its really colorful and lively.

Hey! I’m currently staying in the Monteverde Cloud Forrest Reserve in Costa Rica. After leaving Mexico, I spent roughly a week in Guatemala, in the town of Antigua. Its a lovely colonial town with a great atmosphere about it. It is surrounded by three volcanoes, one of which is currently active: Pacaya. This volcano I climbed with a guide and got up close to some flowing lava… quite an experience (photos).

Hello again. I’m now in Puebla (roughly 150km south-east of Mexico City) staying with Patricia, who I first met in South Africa. The weather is still relatively hot although there have been a few spots of rain.

Time for some first impressions… I’ve been in Mexico City a few hours now and have been sampling some of the local delicacies: beers and tacos, spicy meats and sauces… all of which ever so tasty… The city seems really colorful and lively (and I’ve only seen it by night so far) and a couple of Floras friends have been showing me around.

Well this is it… tomorrow’s the big day. My flight leaves at 7.50am and I get to Mexico City at 5.15pm local time (midnight here). I’m soooo excited…

Well it certainly has been a while since I last posted, but I have been keeping myself busy… For those who might not know, I’ve been doing my internship for a small IT security company in Paris since february. It now turns out that I’ve been offered a job here and will most certainly be staying on for a little while. The work is good fun and the only real problem is the absence of AC in this stifling weather.

Having moved to a new web-host, I now have a lot more space to upload files. To celebrate, I’ve put up a load more photos of the whole “Africa experience” (2457 photos to be precise). Go to the photos page to see them.

This video is actually the opening scene of a DVD called The Billabong Odyssey. It definately deserves a mention as one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen.
